Conclusion
This novel approach to the IVC through the abdominal cavity by making vertical dissection of the diaphragm without cutting pericardium or medial sternotomy is very beneficial and helpful for many liver surgeons to avoid massive hemorrhage during the dissection around the root of the hepatic veins.
